Cantilena SE/ SEL
Lua manufactures a complete series of high-end audio
components. Beginning with a series of different amplifiers and
cables. But what is the best system without a CD- player? True to its tradition
of outstanding quality, Lua then created the remarkable Cantilena CD
player. This successful model enjoyed the best test results in the market
with many hundreds being sold. But Lua wanted more. The experience with the
first CD-player gave our engineers the chance tocreate a much better version named Cantilena SE.
This Cantilena was to embody the best possible sound reproduction and so a 24bit
D/A- converter from the well-known Crystal brand was integrated. For the transportmechanism, Lua
selects a Philips version, which delivers the best technical results at a modest price. A
big breakthrough was the newly designed 4-tube Class A output section
with an output impedance of only 200 Ohms. And speaking of outputs, a speciality
of the Cantilena SE is the provision of two outputs instead of one. The second output can drive a separate
headphone- amplifier without use of the mainamplifier. This is also interesting for
dealers, enabling connection to two different amplifiers allowing their sound quality to easily be comparedusing a single CD player as
source. Also sonic comparisons between two different brands of RCA interlinks
(Cinch cables) can in the same way be easily made by connecting them to two
different high level inputs of your amplifier, especially if it is equipped with a remote controlled
channel switching facility. We have, in the course of time, built up a lot of experience in listening to
differences in tonality between capacitors built with different materials and types of
construction. And believe us, there are a lot of possibilities; we found that one version of a
capacitor, the most expensive, is also one of the best. It's not the cost
of the foil material that counts, -some may think that silver foil creates the best
sound, - indeed if you must throw out your bargain and pay for such
"exclusive" products it will make the best sounds in your dealers
ears, -but seriously-, turn your money over a few times before you order
such exotic things. Lua uses capacitors with polypropylene and a double layer- foil and multiple
connections to the output wire, for lowest serial resistance. The capacitors Lua uses for its loudspeakers
are manufactured with a serial resistance at 10khz of less than 0.04 Ohms and power handling
up to 35 Amperes; - read our loudspeaker brochure if you become
curious. Why do we tell you the story of capacitors? In our newest product the
Cantilena SEL you will find one of the answers. We modify our Cantilena
SE into the SELversion, taking a new type of double layer capacitor as
coupling capacitor between the tube and output- stage. Continuing with a
fine set of Luatubes in the output and some small changes to the power-supply we have again succeeded in further
raising the quality of the sound reproduction. Customers who have not previously experienced
the dynamic range and lifelike timbre of tubed components will find the Cantilena SEL an ideal
introduction to the joys of a new world of sound. Things they never heard before will be heard
strong and clear. This new world of sound brings the music nearer to
you, to enjoy day after day. German magazines have placed Lua's Cantilena
SEL among the best available CD-players on market, at 10th place in the actual list of recommended
reviewed CD-players. Lua is proud to play a part in that range and will do all it can to keep
on improving its standards for you, our customers! |
